Principal under fire for releasing Buhari’s result

Principal under fire for releasing Buhari’s result

The Principal of Government College Katsina, Isyaku Bello Kofarsoro and the school’s examination officer, Kabir Ahmed, are currently under heavy harassment for releasing APC presidential candidate, retired General Muhammadu Buhari’s secondary school result.

Daily Trust learnt that both officers have been receiving phone calls over the release of the result. A close associate of the principal told our correspondent in Katsina that both have been receiving calls from anonymous sources, some threatening them and others praising them.

Kofarsoro was summoned to the state Ministry of Education to explain his role in the release, but he defended his action by saying due processes was followed to warrant the action.

Our source said after a few minutes of questioning at the ministry, he returned to work.  Buhari’s result has almost become a campaign issue with the Army authorities recently saying they didn’t have records of his result in his army file. But Buhari at news conference in Kano said he wrote to his alma mater, the Government College Katsina, to provide copies of the result.

The school principal upon the request promptly made the result public on Wednesday. Buhari said instead of the PDP dissipating energy on WASC result which he possessed, the party should instead, concentrate on the problems currently confronting the nation such as insecurity, corruption and unemployment which he said his government would address if elected next month.
