Boko Haram attacks: Military imposes curfew as Maiduguri boils

The Nigeria military has imposed curfew on Maiduguri on Sunday following a fierce battle in the city.

“Troops are repelling a simultaneous attack on Monguno and Maiduguri by terrorists,” the defence headquarters tweeted.

Another tweet reads: “Curfew is imposed on Maiduguri with immediate effect, until further notice.”

A curfew has been imposed on Maiduguri, capital of Borno State, following the on-going war for its control by Nigerian troops after Boko Haram terrorists launched an attack on the town earlier this morning.

The Islamist militants had simultaneously attacked Monguno, another town in Borno State.
The curfew is with immediate effect and till further notice.

“Troops are repelling a simultaneous attack on Monguno and Maiduguri by Terrorists,” a tweet by Nigeria’s Defence Headquarters said, adding that coordinated air and land operations were “being conducted now.”
