APCON Orders Removal Of Jonathan Posters In Lagos
The Advertising Practitioners Council of Nigeria (APCON) has issued a
removal order on Goodluck Jonathan campaign street lamp pole posters
deployed along Motorways, Ojota, Lagos.
The removal order came after the Transformation Agent of Nigeria
Support Group for the President failed to apply for pre-exposure vetting
before printing and deploying the election material.
Sources at APCON said “the unauthorized publishing and deployment of
the campaign materials goes against the ethics of outdoor regulatory
code. TAN should remove the materials and do the appropriate
otherwise necessary action will be taken”
A former boss of APCON recently condemned the Ekiti State Governor,
Ayodele Fayose who published a “death wish” advert on the All
Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Gen. Muhammadu
Buhari in some national newspapers in support of President Goodluck
Jonathan’s re-election.
