13 Dead, Many Injured In Bauchi Market Blast

13 people have been confirmed dead and many others injured after a bomb exploded in a market in Azare Town, Bauchi State, North East Nigeria.

Eyewitness account say the blast occurred at the Container Market where mobile phones are sold.

This attack comes barely a week after an explosion killed scores of bank customers withdrawing money from an Automatic Teller Machine (ATM) of the First Bank Nigeria PLC.

This attack was also carried out by a female bomber, who forced her way into the market before detonating the bomb.

A source told Channels Television’s correspondent that angry youths at the market, lynched a woman and another person believed to be masterminds of the blast.

Traders who sustained injury from the blast have been taken to the Federal Medical Centre, Azare Town.

Azare is located in the northern part of Bauchi State and is about 200 kilometers away from the state capital and the second largest town in the state.

Azare has been severally attacked by terrorist since 2002 when boko haram activities began.

only last month, an explosion at Yankari Motor Park killed 13 people with several others injured.

In 2012, several commercial banks in the town were robbed and destroyed by terrorists in an overnight attack.
