Explosion hit primary school in Yobe State
An explosion that occurred at a primary school in Potiskum, Yobe, has killed one person.
Residents of Potiskum said the explosion occurred at the Arikime Primary School playing ground and killed a sugar-cane vendor.
Meanwhile, initial reports from eyewitnesses indicated that the planted bomb that went off around 6:30pm on Sunday was targeted at footballers using the playing ground.
However, another report later claimed that the explosion was targeted at early morning football players who often crowded the busy Arikime playing ground for early exercise.
Channels Television reports that the sugar-cane vendor, who was heading home after the day’s business, was the only victim of the blast.
