Court Awards Custody Of 2 Children of Atiku Abubakar's Son To Estranged Wife
A Lagos State Chief Magistrate Court sitting in Tinubu on Thursday resolved the custody dispute between
One of the sons of the former Vice President Abubakar Atiku, Mohammed Aminu Atiku and his estranged wife, Unmi Fatima Bolori in her favour.
The court gave sole custody of the seven and nine years old children to Ms. Bolori following Aminu’s non appearance for a proceeding to determine the final custodial arrangement.
Aminu later walked into the courtroom after the court had made its pronouncements.
The court presided over by Magistrate kike Ayeye in her ruling granted full custody of the children (names withheld) to the mother, holding that their mother should enroll the children in schools suited for their educational needs.
The court also order granting the respondent the right to visit his children and to request for the children to spend holidays with him.
The further directed Aminu to pay for the upkeep of the children in the sum of 250,000 naira monthly starting from January, 2018 as well as effective medical insurance on the two children.
It would be recalled that Aminu sometimes last year was remanded in custody for failure to comply with Magistrate Ayeye’s order to produce the children for assessment.
The production order was made following a Save Our Soul (SOS) text message from one of the children complaining maltreatment and lack of care from their father who they claimed often abandoned them to the care of housemaid while he pursue his businesses within and outside the country.
But the remand order was revoked when Aminu later complied with the court order.
